Product number: EVE-A35-CF-INT *Some photos show the optional carbon turbine inlet pipe number EVE-A35-CF-CHG Fits the following vehicles: Mercedes A35 AMG, CLA35 AMG, A250, CLA250 Performance increases: 15-20 HP and 20-27 Nm
The Eventuri intake system for the Mercedes A35 AMG was created to ensure a freer flow of air to the turbine while maintaining its low temperature. Reducing temperature and increasing internal capacity are the main challenges when designing intakes for supercharged engines. In the A35, the intake system is close to the exhaust manifold, which increases the temperature in the engine compartment very quickly. High temperatures are very detrimental to engine performance because the turbine must then operate with heated, thinner air, so it is very important to keep the intake air temperature low by using a closed intake system. To reduce the limitations of a closed-loop design, Eventuri engineers increased the internal capacity of the filter housing by relocating the ECU and using an opening placed on the cold side of the housing, away from the direct influence of heat flowing from the manifold. The carbon intake pipe has greater internal volume. It has an initial diameter of 111 mm (4.4") and gently tapers to fit the size of the turbine inlet. The set is also equipped with a specially developed high-flow dry air filter with an increased filtering surface, ISO certified for effective filtration.
Dyno tests The dynamometer tests were carried out by the MSL Performance team - Mercedes specialists based in the UK. A completely stock A35 AMG was tested with the original intake and Eventuri intake. The tests were carried out one after another while maintaining the same external conditions. As you can see in the charts below, the Eventuri intake provides an increase in performance across the entire rev range. The marked point indicates a significant increase in power, where the Eventuri intake allows for a higher flow coefficient at higher engine speeds, and the factory intake poses great resistance. The gains are felt on the road through improved throttle response and improved acceleration times. In vehicles with controller modification, even better results can be expected because the turbine demand increases.
The Eventuri intake system for the A35 consists of several elements that fulfill precisely defined functions and are made in accordance with the highest quality standards, entirely from carbon fiber without any addition of glass fiber. This results in a smooth internal surface, ensuring unobstructed air flow. Below you will find descriptions of individual components and an explanation of their operation.
Each intake system consists of the following components: • carbon filter housing • specially developed high-flow dry cone filter • carbon inlet pipe • CNC milled inlet flange • laser cut stainless steel handles and ECU cover • silicone connector with clamps in factory specifications
Carbon filter housing The filter housing, made of prepreg carbon fiber, serves two functions - it protects the filter against heat from the engine compartment and provides two sources of cold air. Due to the housing being positioned next to the exhaust manifold, filter coverage is key, so Eventuri engineers designed the housing to accommodate the filter while providing plenty of internal capacity. The inlet pipe passes through a rubber seal in the housing, which guarantees protection against hot air. Relocating the ECU allowed the housing to be taller for maximum capacity, which in turn allows the use of a larger filter.
The completely sealed housing limits access to cold air from outside. The factory intake draws air through a single channel through a rubber section with numerous edges. The Eventuri intake gets rid of the rubber section and therefore provides a smoother flow of cold air. Additionally, to further minimize flow restrictions, an opening is provided on the cold side of the housing near the hood closure to allow additional air to be drawn in.
Specially developed conical filter The Eventuri conical filter is made of double-layer non-woven mesh material, ISO certified, which ensures the filtration rate is in line with the factory standard. This is a reusable product - it can be cleaned and reused. It is stable at high temperatures - the base material is urethane. The filter has an internal cone to help direct air in the right direction and prevent a stagnation point in the middle of the filter. The filter insert has a much larger surface area compared to the factory panel equivalent.
