MERCEDES G63 AMG W465
The Eventuri intake system for the Mercedes G63 AMG W465 is made of prepreg carbon fiber and equipped with CNC-machined components and individually designed high-flow filters. The design is a completely redesigned version of the factory airboxes and air flow channels. Using the additional space under the hood, it was possible to significantly increase the volume of the intake system, achieving an impressive 25% increase in airflow compared to stock airboxes, while maintaining the factory cold air intakes.
The larger intake volume also allows for smoother airflow, allowing turbochargers to draw in air with less resistance. This results in reduced wastegate valve operation and improved overall efficiency.
To accommodate the larger intake system, the engine cover has also been redesigned with a red Kevlar element and a carbon herringbone weave.
The Eventuri intake system for the G63 AMG provides some of the best performance gains in its class, while offering a better sound and a more attractive appearance of the engine compartment.
Product details:
The Eventuri intake system for the G63 AMG consists of a series of components designed for maximum performance and manufactured to the highest quality standards. The construction uses 100% carbon fiber prepreg without admixtures of fiberglass, which allows for a perfectly smooth internal surface for smoother air flow.
Each intake kit includes:
carbon airbox bases
carbon airbox covers
individually designed high-flow dry filters
carbon engine cover
CNC machined sensor mounts
flexible channel connectors made of EPDM
laser cut stainless steel brackets
Airbox modules:
Airboxes have a two-piece structure, in which the upper and lower sections are separated by filter panels. Each element has been designed to maximize internal volume and ensure unobstructed airflow to the turbochargers.
The biggest challenge during design was to increase the capacity of the airboxes compared to their serial counterparts. Due to the limited space of the G63 engine compartment, this was achieved by optimizing the internal height of the airboxes. The greatest improvement was achieved by enlarging the upper covers of the airboxes, which resulted in a much larger volume and more effective air flow.
Each airbox is equipped with an array of CNC machined components and mounts for a perfect, OEM-style fit.
The stock airbox cover further limits the flow due to the short distance between the filter panel and the turbocharger inlet. The air must pass through a very tight passage from the rectangular filter to the circular turbo inlet located on one side of the airbox. This creates flow stagnation zones on a large area of the filter, generating additional resistance.
The Eventuri design lowers the filter position, creating more space between the filter and the turbocharger inlet. Thanks to this, the filter is used more effectively, while limiting turbulence and reducing the operating resistance of turbochargers.
Engine cover:
Taking advantage of the additional space under the hood allowed for maximum volume in the intake system, but also required redesigning the engine cover, as the stock cover is located very close to the factory intakes. The new cover is made of carbon fiber prepreg.
Custom designed panel filters:
Maximizing the size of the intake system was only possible thanks to the development of dedicated filters. The high-flow panel filters use multi-layer dry filter material to ensure effective filtration, and their curved profile eliminates sharp, unnatural edges inside the airbox that could cause turbulence.
