We present the Eventuri intake system for the BMW F9X X5M, G09 XM, which is the result of intensive research and development work and numerous tests aimed at improving air flow compared to the factory equivalent. The Eventuri kit was created completely from scratch to reduce pressure drops while increasing the flow coefficient and maintaining low intake air temperatures. The factory cold air intakes are located at the front and the turbine intakes face the rear of the vehicle, so the airflow must make a 180-degree turn in each filter housing, which creates additional drag. To solve this problem, Eventuri engineers used an additional air intake near the wiper panel, thanks to which the air flows through a straighter path to the turbines. Additional inlets ensure better flow while maintaining low air temperatures, and also enhance the sound of the turbines. With the intake vents facing the cabin, the turbine spin and pressure release sounds are clearly audible, greatly enhancing the driving experience.
Dyno tests The intake was independently tested by the MSL Performance team from the UK. Tests were performed back-to-back against the factory equivalent. Several trials were performed in each configuration. The tested vehicle did not have carbon filters in the factory housings. Dyno results show a steady increase over a wide rev range, which can be attributed to the turbos reaching maximum boost earlier and at a lower wastegate cycle - all a result of a more efficient intake system. On the road, the power gains translate into better throttle performance at partial and full opening, and the car revs up to the redline much more quickly.

This is not just another cone filter with a cover, but a unique design that uses the Venturi effect and maintains a layered airflow to reduce the load on the turbine.
The Eventuri intake system for the X5M consists of several elements that fulfill precisely defined functions and are manufactured in accordance with the highest quality standards. Only prepreg carbon fiber is used without any glass fiber, which means a much smoother internal surface, guaranteeing free flow. Below you will find descriptions of individual components and an explanation of their operation.
Each intake system consists of the following components: • 2 x patented carbon fiber Venturi housing • 2 x specially developed high flow dry cone filter • 2 x double carbon air intake • carbon engine cover • 2 x rear air intake made of synthetic rubber (EPDM) • silicone connectors • milled mounting brackets
FILTER HOUSING The set consists of specially developed second generation filters, aluminum inlet flanges and stainless steel handles. The housing shell houses a reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow into the factory turbine inlets. This solution changes the flow path in the factory equivalent, where the air enters the bottom of the housing, changes direction 90 degrees to pass through the panel filter, and turns 90 degrees again to reach the pipe. The Eventuri kit provides a much simpler flow path - air enters from the front of the filter housing and moves to the turbine inlet without any sudden changes in direction. Thanks to this, the air stream goes straight from the filter to the turbine without unnecessary disruptions.
INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED CONE FILTER To obtain the maximum air flow rate, Eventuri engineers designed the filter element to make the most efficient use of the space available in the engine compartment. The filter element is a dry type and is ISO certified, guaranteeing a level of filtration consistent with the OEM standard. The design is based on a characteristic cone shape, supporting the Venturi effect generated by the housing.
PATENTED TECHNOLOGY The patented Eventuri filter housing has a gently decreasing diameter between the filter and the turbine inlet. This geometry induces the Venturi effect, which involves accelerating the flow while maintaining the layered nature of the air stream. The housing design resembles a trumpet-shaped intake pipe (velocity stack).
DOUBLE CARBON AIR INTAKES The biggest drawback of the factory intake is the location of the air inlets in relation to the arrangement of the turbine inlets. The air intakes are at the front of the vehicle, with the turbine intakes facing towards the rear. Eventuri engineers designed the intake ducts with additional holes on the top and used an additional cold air intake in the wiper panel. By using both factory inlets and an additional inlet, the Eventuri kit is able to provide better flow and a less tortuous path of the air stream flowing to the turbines.
REAR INLETS MADE OF EPDM To ensure complete tightness of the intake, additional air inlets in carbon channels connect tightly with EPDM inlets, drawing air from the area of the wiper panel. When the hood is lowered, the wiper panel is separated tightly from the engine compartment, allowing the intakes to supply outside air. The kit includes the central part of the factory hood gasket with appropriate cutouts to allow the installation of EPDM inlets.
CARBON ENGINE COVER Due to a change in the design of the filter housing, made to obtain maximum volume, the factory engine cover does not fit in its original place. That's why Eventuri engineers created a new cover to cover the unsightly engine components and give the whole thing an attractive appearance. Gaps were left between the cover and the intake to allow heat from the engine compartment to dissipate rather than contribute to heating the intake system.
The kit provides a clearly noticeable improvement in performance, appearance and sound compared to the factory equivalent.
